Disability Rights Maine, a progressive non-profit organization whose mission is to advance and enforce the civil and human rights of individuals with disabilities, has an opening for an attorney/advocate in Bangor.
The duties include representing individuals with developmental disabilities in negotiations and meetings; representing the interests of people with disabilities on various boards and commissions; working toward systemic change; and presenting training and other public education efforts.
Qualifications include a Law degree, Bachelor’s degree or relevant life experience; ability to master legal and policy areas; develop and pursue innovative high-impact advocacy strategies; and work effectively with a wide range of interests. The successful candidate will be expected to execute projects with a high degree of independence, while working within DRM’s team-oriented atmosphere.
