Disability Rights Maine is a progressive non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure autonomy, inclusion, equality, and access for people with disabilities in Maine.

DRM has an opening for a full-time Administrative and Advocacy Assistant based in Falmouth, ME. This entry-level, progressively-responsible position will support DRM’s Deaf Services Division and will work directly with clients, family members, partner agencies, and service providers. The position will be ½ time office-based, ½ time remote.

Position duties will include: answering and routing calls; drafting documents and correspondence; coordinating events and outreach activities; maintaining client and project documentation; conducting research; communicating with clients; and providing general administrative and routine clerical support.

Qualifications include: American Sign Language proficiency; English proficiency; strong writing skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; comfort working with Microsoft Office Suite and/or learning new programs/technology; Bachelor’s degree or relevant life experience. The successful candidate will be motivated and expected to work with a high degree of independence.
