Bookkeeper

Job Location: Augusta

Disability Rights Maine (DRM), a progressive non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure autonomy, inclusion, equality, and access for people with disabilities in Maine, has an opening for a full-time Bookkeeper in its Augusta Office.

Position duties include processing payroll, maintaining client and office documentation, accounting software data entry, assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, providing general administrative and routine clerical support, and providing assistance to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications include previous bookkeeping experience, understanding of financial statements, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to understand multiple databases, strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, strong organizational skills and a commitment to the civil rights of all people and the ability to work with individuals with a variety of disability characteristics and cultural backgrounds. The successful candidate will be expected to complete the assigned tasks with a high degree of independence, while working within DRM's team-oriented atmosphere.
