Clayton joined Disability Rights Maine (DRM) in 2021 as a staff attorney in the Children's & Educational Advocacy program. Prior to joining DRM, he practiced education law at the Georgia Advocacy Office, the state protection and advocacy agency in Georgia. He also worked at the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights in Atlanta and prior to that, he was an Equal Justice Works Legal Fellow at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Prior to practicing law, Clayton worked at the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative where he helped implement programs promoting human rights in Central Asia.

Clayton received his law degree from the Northeastern University School of Law in 2013, and his undergraduate degree in political science from the Georgia State University in 2008.
