Kirsten joined Disability Rights Maine in 2018 as the Developmental Services Advocate for Aroostook County. Prior to working at DRM, Kirsten taught fifth grade in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. After teaching, Kirsten returned to the east coast to attend law school at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. There she was a senior staffer for the Health and Biomedical Journal, worked in a legal clinic writing judicial codes for Native American Tribes, and interned at Pine Tree Legal Assistance during her 1L and 2L Summers. Originally from central Maine, Kirsten is excited to have moved to the northern part of the state to pursue a career working with and for fellow Mainers.

Kirsten also attended the University of Maine and graduated with a B.A. in International Affairs/Anthropology, as well as received a Teaching Certification from Santa Fe Community College.
