Debra Rogers hails from San Diego, California; moving to Maine to continue her work promoting access to telecommunication for people who have difficulty using the telephone. Her responsibilities at Disability Rights Maine include Hamilton and TEP (Telecommunication Equipment Program). In California, she worked for Hamilton for 16 months. She served on multiple hearing loss boards and was the Scheduling Coordinator for ASL interpreting for recovery groups. Her education includes: a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management along with a Bachelors in Child and Family Development. As a woman with late-onset hearing loss, she is learning ASL with her husband and mentors people with hearing loss in the community. In June 2017, Debra was certified as a "Hearing Loss Peer Mentor" through Gallaudet University.
