Michelle Ames joined DRM in 2015 as an advocate and PSG Coordinator. In June 2018 she became a Program Director for DRM Deaf Services. Michelle teaches American Sign Language at DRM and teaches Visual Gesture Communication workshops throughout Maine. Prior to joining DRM, she worked at the Maine Center on Deafness, Maine Behavioral Health, and Goodwill Industries of Northern New England. Michelle graduated from Governor Baxter School for the Deaf and attended Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. She is an active committee member of Portland Disability Advisory Committee, a Member of the Maine Association for the Deaf, and serves on the School Board for the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
