Tommy Minch is a lifelong advocate for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities and serves as the NAD Region 1 Representative on the Board of Directors. He is also Board Chair of the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf, and Co-President of the Maine Association of the Deaf.
Through Disability Rights Maine, Tommy leads Deaf Services advocacy centered on communication access, law enforcement training, and emergency access policy—work that has earned him NOVA’s Morton Bard Allied Professional Award. He coordinates with law enforcement and partner organizations across multiple states to advance Deaf cultural competency and equitable access.
ASL-fluent with deep Deaf cultural grounding, Tommy brings expertise in nonprofit governance, bylaws, and policy development to every table he joins. As an adoptive father, he is committed to building a stronger, more accessible future for the next generation.
