Disability Pride 2025

Disability Pride is back again! This year, we will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Accessibility Information

  • The pavilion is a hard, flat, paved surface. Pavement extends beyond the pavilion before the surface of the park turns to level grass. There is a packed, gravel trail to the right of the pavilion. 
  • ASL interpreters will be available throughout the event.
  • Accessible parking will be marked and there will be a drop-off area next to the pavilion. Parking at the venue is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
  • DRM provides masks at all agency-sponsored events and will make masks available to all attendees.
  • The event is scent-free.
  • Ear plugs will be available.
  • An accessible portable bathroom is available next to the parking area.
  • A map of the event will be available closer to the event.

Disability Pride Art Contest

DRM is inviting Mainers to submit a design for our 2025 Disability Pride Banner. The winning design will also be used for our 2025 Disability Pride t-shirt and in DRM materials promoting Disability Pride. Second and third place prizes will also be given.

Theme: Disability Justice and the ADA

Submissions will be judged on:

  1. Connection to theme
  2. Originality
  3. Feasibility – must be easy to reproduce

First place: The selection will be used for DRM’s 2025 Disability Pride Banner and 2025 t-shirt. The winner will also receive a cash prize of $200.

Second place: The selection will be used for DRM’s 2025 Annual Report cover. The winner will also receive a cash prize of $100.

Third place: The selection will be used for the next reprint of DRM’s agency brochure and may be featured on other DRM written or electronic materials. The winner will also receive a cash prize of $50.

Rules:
  1. Everyone who submits a design must be a Maine resident.
  2. Everyone who submits a design must be 18 years or older, or if under the age of 18, have the express written permission of a parent or guardian.
  3. Individuals are limited to one design entry per person.
  4. Submissions must be the original work of the entrant.
  5. Electronic submissions must be at least 300 dpi.

The winners agree to give DRM the right to use or reproduce the design in any way or form, including on publications, hats, t-shirts or other clothing, or on any bag.  The winners’ names will appear on any publication or clothing used by DRM.

We recommend using “Mill Park Parking, Augusta, ME” as your GPS location. You can also use the following coordinates: 44°19’16.0″N 69°46’22.2″W

From the South (Via 95-N & 295-N)

  • Take I-95 / Maine Turnpike North to Exit 112A; stay in left lane to light
  • Use middle lane after light, continue straight; after second light use left lane
  • At third light turn left onto Townsend Road, go 0.9 miles
  • Use right lane to yield sign
  • Turn right onto Northern Avenue, South 104 for 0.9 miles
  • Turn left into Mill Park – across from AFC building on right
  • From the North (Via 95-S)
  • Take I-95 / Maine Turnpike South to Exit 112 Augusta/Belgrade;
  • Veer left in middle lane to light; turn left, use right lane
  • Continue straight; after second light use left lane
  • At third light turn left onto Townsend Road, go 0.9 miles
  • Use right lane to yield sign
  • Turn right onto Northern Avenue, South 104 for 0.9 miles
  • Turn left into Mill Park – across from AFC building on right
